Are you concerned that some, or all, of the “standard” prayers you have been taught to pray are what is needed for Israel now, or are biblically based, or are what is on God’s heart?
Are you doubtful whether God is interested in any of your prayers? I am going to try to help you, and thus, the Jewish people and the nation of Israel as well.
I grew up on a farm in Minnesota and never met a Jewish person until I was 18 years old. For some reason, known only to God, I had a heart for the nation of Israel from an early age and I knew God had a plan for them. In the first week of June, 1967, I can vividly remember coming in from hoeing bean fields and fascinatedly reading Life magazine’s stories and seeing pictures about Israel’s winning the “Six Day War”.
My wife and I lived our first 4 years in the main Jewish neighborhood in St. Paul, where the Orthodox Jews walked to synagogue on Sabbath. Later, we lived near the main Jewish suburb of Minneapolis. When we moved to the East Coast in 1986, I worked directly for a Jewish boss for 11 years, and met and conversed with many Jewish CPA’s and tax attorneys.
But I learned to pray for the nation of Israel, and its leaders and institutions, as a new Christian, from Derek Prince, an internationally known Bible teacher. I have subscribed to the Jerusalem Post since 1978 and have been actively interceding for Israel since at least 1982. My strongest desire is to see God reveal Himself again as the Protector, Defender and Father of Israel, so that the Jews, worldwide, would know they have been “re-grafted” by the Lord back into His Branch. To that end, is this website.
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7
